Marco antonio Barrera

Barrera was 15 years old when he defeated David Felix by a knockout in round two on November 22, 1989. The victory marked the beginning of a 43 fight win streak.

In 1990, Barrera had seven fights, including his first rise in quality opposition, when he defeated veteran Iván Salazar, by a decision in eight rounds. In 1991, he had seven more fights, defeating boxers Abel Hinojosa, Javier Díaz and others.

Barrera began 1992 by winning his first professional title, defeating Justino Suárez by a decision in twelve rounds to win the Mexican national Super Flyweight championship. He retained the title three times before the end of the year which helped improved his ranking in the Super Flyweight division. He defeated Abner Barajas by a decision in ten rounds, and Angel Rosario by a knockout in six rounds. He is the hero of Mexico

Muhammad Ali

Born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr., in 1942 (named after both his father and the famous Kentucky abolitionist), the gregarious, handsome, and extraordinarily gifted boxer garnered world attention by winning a gold medal in the 1960 Olympics. He further stunned the sports world by beating the heavily favored Sonny Liston to win the heavyweight title in 1964, and shocked white America by announcing right after that fight that he had joined the militant, antiwhite Nation of Islam, the Black Muslims, whose most well-known figure was the fiery orator Malcolm X. He also announced that he was changing his name to Muhammad Ali. When he opposed being drafted during the Vietnam War on religious grounds and was subsequently convicted of violating the Selective Service Act in 1967, he was denied a license to fight anywhere in the United States. He was, at this time, among white America, probably the most hated black public figure since heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson. After an exile of three and a half years, Ali returned triumphantly to boxing in 1970, even though he lost his title to Joe Frazier in 1971. He eventually won back his title in 1974, and after losing it once in 1978 regained it again later that year.

Manny Pacquiao

Pacquiao started his professional boxing career in 1995 at 106 pounds at the age of 16. His early fights usually took place in small venues and were shown on Vintage Sports’ Blow by Blow evening boxing show (hosted by John Ray Betita). His first professional fight was a four-round bout against Edmund Ignacio on January 22, 1995, which Pacquiao won via decision, thus becoming an instant star of the program.

Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal was 19 years and two days old when he won the 2005 French Open in his very first appearance at the event. A left-hander with a booming forehand, Nadal had been known as a clay-court specialist since playing his first pro tournaments in 2001. His aggressive style, flowing hair and muscular build have made him a consistent favorite with female fans as well. He won his first singles title in 2004, and had a breakout season in 2005, winning at Monte Carlo, Rome, Barcelona and Stuttgart as well as at Roland Garros. He won the French Open again in 2006, 2007 and 2008, defeating Roger Federer in the final each time. In 2008 he broke through at Wimbledon, beating Federer to win the men’s singles title there.

Martina Navratilova

The dominant women’s tennis player of her time, Martina Navratilova won every Grand Slam singles title at least twice: Wimbledon (a record nine times), the Australian Open (three), the French Open (two) and the U.S. Open (four). Left-handed, sinewy and athletic, she helped bring a new era of power into the traditionally more finesse-minded women’s game.

James Scott “Jimmy” Connors

James Scott “Jimmy” Connors ,  is a former World No. 1 American tennis player. He held the top ranking for 160 consecutive weeks from July 29, 1974 through August 29, 1977 and an additional eight times during his career (a total of 268 weeks). He won eight Grand Slam singles titles and two Grand Slam doubles titles with Ilie Năstase and was the mixed doubles runner-up with Chris Evert at the 1974 US Open. He is considered to be one of the top male tennis players of all time. He is a former coach of Andy Roddick, the winner of the 2003 US Open.

Lin Dan

Among the tournaments Lin Dan has won are the All-England Open(2004, 2006, and 2007) and the China Masters. He has helped China win three consecutive Thomas Cup (men’s world team) championships in 2004, 2006, and 2008. Lin also won the 2007 World Badminton Championships in men’s singles, defeating Sony Dwi Kuncoroo of Indonesia in the final to become only the 2nd player after Yang Yang to win the men’s singles championship back to back, after taking the gold medal in the 2006 World Badminton Championships.

He played for Chinese team in Sudirman Cup 2005 and 2007 as his team won.

Lin won his first ever Olympic singles gold medal on 17 August 2008 at the Beijing Summer Olympics after defeating Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia in straight sets 21-12, 21-8.

Lee Chong Wei

1. Lee Chong Wei held an unbeaten record in all tournaments held inside Malaysian territory for 3 years, from 2004 to 2006 and another win in 2008 totaling 4 all together in his home soil. He has won the Malaysian Open for three consecutive years, including 2006 in which, in what is considered one of the greatest comebacks in badminton history, he fought back from 13–20 down and saved eight gold medal points against the 2006 World champion Lin Dan to finally wrap up the match 23–21. In 2005, he beat Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat and World No. 1 Lin Dan en route to the title.
